The RIGOROUS PBL BY DESIGN professional learning pathway is built on the idea that innovation, academic gains, and student agency can be accomplished together. This is done by designing, implementing and inspecting a few key habits that enable students to build clarity, tackle challenging tasks, and engage in a culture that builds confidence and competence.

Using the latest research and practical experience, Rigorous PBL by Design Professional Development equips teachers with high-impact strategies that ensure students develop content knowledge, enhances the PBL strategies that are known to develop deeper learning capacities, and cultivates a series of strategies that promote student ownership over learning

1 DAY INTRODUCTION
Day 1 focuses on establishing student clarity in the PBL environment.
Day 2 provides strategies to ensure challenge students at surface, deep, and transfer levels of learning.
Day 3 focuses on developing a learning and learner-centered culture.
DEEP DIVE SERIES
Day 1 focuses on designing Rigorous PBL and inspecting impact on student learning using The Project Habit framework.
Day 2 focuses on implementing The Project Habit framework across the four phases of Rigorous PBL by Design.
COACHING FOR RIGOROUS PBL
Coaching for Rigorous PBL offers the support, the accountability, and empathy we all need as we learn and grow. The coaching program can be a short term or multi-year process that offers mentoring and customizable support for teachers, teacher teams, leaders, and leadership teams as they navigate the journey of continuous improvement in rPBL.
PROJECT DESIGN WORKSHOP | RIGOROUS PBL
The following series of workshops are designed to support teachers in developing rigorous inquiry-based units of study that are aligned to syllabus requirements. The workshops are divided into two-hour sessions that are anchored to learning intentions and success criteria, rigorous task and assessment development, lesson creation, and targeted instructional and feedback practices.
